Kindergarten news
The Kindergarteners at Choudrant Elementary are very busy learning. We are reading words and sentences. We can write and illustrate our own sentences too.  We are counting, writing numbers, measuring and weighing objects.
We just celebrated our 100th day of school. We read stories, made a 100th day crown, made a necklace with 100 fruit loops, made a snack with 100 items and counted to 100 by ones, fives and tens.
We also enjoyed learning about groundhogs and hope since he did not see his shadow that spring will come quickly!

Hosts Nan and Jimmy Colvin and Jerrel Huey just “loved” inviting the Caney Lake Good Sammers into the meeting room at Pavilion RV Park in West Monroe on Feb. 20-23.
Card games and shopping were the Thursday morning experiences. All the campers were then ready for the pot-luck lunch with ham, brisket, great casseroles and salads.
Hubert Estes, the Caney Lake Sams Chef and his helper Jerrel Huey, had a feast of pancakes and bacon waiting for the group the next morning. One even had their choice of blueberry, plain or a combination.

Lady Techsters lose to SFA, 2-0

in

Carlie Thomas pitched a complete-game, two-hit shutout as Stephen F. Austin defeated Louisiana Tech 2-0 Wednesday night at the Lady Techster Softball Complex.
Tech (12-13) didn’t back an impressive performance by starter Anna Cross and relievers Janna Frandrup and Michelle Jones, who combined to allow only one earned run on four hits on the night. Cross (0-1), making her first career start in the circle, tossed 4.1 innings allowing only one earned run on four hits and two walks. A solo home run in the fourth inning by Shalie Day was the lone mistake that Cross made in the circle.

Louisiana Tech University’s offense began to show signs of creating a rhythm, as the team practiced for just over two hours on the Tech Practice Fields Wednesday afternoon in Ruston.
With the offensive game plan continuing to be installed and players getting more and more comfortable with the playbook, a pair of veteran receivers continued to make highlight-style plays as they rose above the rest.
