Max Alan Shatto, age 3, born January 9, 2010, passed into God’s arms on Monday afternoon, January 21, 2013. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston, LA. Funeral services will be held at Owens Funeral Home, Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 2 PM with burial following at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Clay, LA. Rev. Frank Folino, O.F.M. of St. Thomas Aquinas will officiate.

THE GRAMBLING City Council will hold a Special Call Meeting Thursday, January 31, 2013, at 5:30 p.m. at Grambling City Hall & Community Center, 127 King Street, Grambling, Louisiana for the purpose of the following:

Bell outlines goals for the school system

The Lincoln Parish Library Community Room was packed around noon Monday as residents, school officials and community leaders gathered for the third annual State of the District address.
Superintendent of Schools Danny Bell provided attendees with a list of recent accomplishments of the district, as well as a number of long-term goals.
Bell began by talking about the Ruston 21 goals that the Lincoln Parish School Board adopted almost three years ago. Among those goals was that the district would rank in the top 12 school districts in the state by May 2013.

Tech President Dan Reneau said he was saddened to hear of Lewis’ passing, as was the entire Tech family.
