in
Fallin, Randy.jpg

Choices and consequences — teach children the link

in
Moore, Byron.jpg

Question: My wife thinks we need to give our high school son a larger allowance. He is always coming to us for money for this and that, but I am pretty sure if we give him a bigger allowance, he will just spend it and keep coming to us for money. Do you have a suggestion?
Answer: Yes. Introduce your son to the twin concepts of freedom of choice and freedom from consequences.

A gala, a luncheon and a birthday

LS2 C.jpg

There was a birthday for a very special veteran, a luncheon with keynote speaker Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, and a gala last week as residents hobnobbed all over the parish.
For those interested in submitting photos from social functions, please clarify the event, date and persons in the photo. The Ruston Daily Leader encourages all residents and groups to submit photos as this feature is an excellent way to publicize special and casual occasions, whether a party, christening, luncheon, etc.
