Louisiana Tech University isn’t waste any time in finding a new head coach to lead the football program.
First, there was the formation late last week of a search committee to interview applicants to name a successor to new University of California head coach Sonny Dykes.
Then this weekend, according to sources close to the Bulldogs’ program, University of Toledo Head Coach Matt Campbell was interviewed for the job.

Techsters lose to Rutgers, 73-46

NEW YORK — For the second straight game, Louisiana Tech University struggled to shoot the basketball, as the Lady Techsters fell 73-46 to Rutgers Sunday morning at Madison Square Garden as part of the 2012 Maggie Dixon Classic.
One game after shooting only 17 percent in its loss at Texas A&M Tuesday, head coach Teresa Weatherspoon’s team hit only 13-of-52 field goals against the Scarlet Knights as Rutgers pulled away down the stretch for the win.

Choudrant boys win tourney title

Choudrant High won the boys’ championship and West Ouachita High was tops in the girls’ division at the annual Neill Killgore Memorial basketball tournament that concluded at the Cedar Creek High School gymnasium on Saturday night.
The Aggies finished out with the title victory in their category, while Cedar Creek was a 48-33 victim of Benton in the third place contest and Caldwell was a 56-54 winner over West Ouachita High School for consolation honors.

Grambling growth beneficial

On Nov. 30 , City of Grambling leaders, members of the business community and local residents gathered at Grambling City Hall for a groundbreaking ceremony for the soon-to-be-developed Mansfield Estates.
Located directly behind city hall, the subdivision will include six two-bedroom homes, 21 three-bedroom homes and four four-bedroom homes. The name bestowed to the new development is to honor a former Grambling Mayor and Police Juror, the Rev. Julius Mansfield.

Kyle David Stinson Richardson

Kyle David Stinson Richardson, 55, of Atlanta, Georgia, died on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at his home. Mr. Richardson was born in Ruston, LA, on Sept. 16, 1957, to Lacey Stinson and Mary Stinson Richardson. Kyle's father was tragically taken when Kyle was 11 months old, and he was then lovingly reared by his mother Mary and her second husband, Joe Mitchell Richardson.

The Village of Simsboro met in regular session Monday, December 3, 2012 at 6:00 P. M. Council members present were Alderman Doug Durrett and Alderman Tiffany Cole. Mayor Pro-Temp Pamela Durrett called the meeting to order. Pam Durrett voiced the prayer and led in the Pledge of Allegiance.
ADOPTION OF AGENDA
APPROVAL OF PRINTED MINUTES: A motion to accept the minutes as printed was made by Alderman Doug Durrett, seconded by Alderman Tiffany Cole. Motion passed.
