Grambling maintains business accreditation

Grambling State University’s College of Business maintained its business accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools.

Erick Valentine, interim dean of the College of Business, said the AACSB accreditation differentiates business and accounting programs across the globe based on terms of quality, rigor and relevance.

AACSB accredits less than five percent of businesses schools worldwide.

Run for the Wall

Area residents across North Louisiana gathered at Interstate 20 overpasses to show their support for motorcyclists that were participating in Run for the Wall.
Run for the Wall’s mission is to promote healing among all veterans and their families and friends, to call for an accounting of all Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action, to honor the memory of those Killed in Action from all wars, and to support the U.S. military personnel all over the world.

Lady Chops to perform at LPL

She is famed as being able to make music with anything in front of her, and at 6 p.m. May 31, Lady Chops — Elizabeth Vidos— will show residents her talent at the Lincoln Parish Library.
During her show “Street Percussion: Let it move you,” Vidos will showcase the abilities to the crowd gathered in the Event’s Center.

Shelly Dowdy, children’s specialist for LPL, said the show would be fun for the whole family.

LPSB recognizes Lincoln Health Foundation

The Lincoln Parish School Board recognized the Lincoln Health Foundation for its work in the community recently at the foundation’s annual public meeting.
The Lincoln Health Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was created to improve health care and outcomes for Lincoln Parish residents.
Lincoln Parish ACHIEVE Coordinator Cathi Cox-Boniol said the foundation provides health care services to area children, helps establish healthy lifestyle programs and much more to Lincoln Parish schools.
“It’s quite remarkable what they have done,” she said.

Tech’s Lunceford honored

Diamond ’Dog named C-USA Hitter of Week

Louisiana Tech third baseman Chase Lunceford has been selected as the Conference USA Hitter of the Week after the junior helped lead the Bulldogs to an historic series sweep over No. 16 Rice this past weekend to close out the regular season.
Lunceford and the Bulldogs became the first team in Conference USA to ever complete a sweep over the Owls since Rice joined the league in 2005. Lunceford hit .429 (6-for-14) in three games with six RBIs, a home run, two runs scored and a .500 on base percentage. He hit .800 (4-for-5) with runners in scoring position and recorded four two-out RBIs.
