Simsboro to vote on sales tax

Village of Simsboro will decide Nov. 8 whether they want a new 1.25 percent sales tax.
The tax, said Mayor Sybil Smalling-Foster, will be collected for the sale as well as the lease or loan of personal property and sales of service inside the Village of Simsboro beginning Jan. 1, 2017.
The tax is expected to bring in $2,400 in its first year.

“It is not dedicated so it is for whatever purpose we need,” she said. “It will go into the general fund.”
