Milstead: We’re excited to close this

The Lincoln Parish School Board soon may see an end to a decades old desegregation case.

Information about the case could possibly reach the media within the next few weeks, parish schools Superintendent Mike Milstead said Tuesday.

Milstead’s comments came after the school board spent 30 minutes in executive session discussing the information.

“We’re excited to be closing this out soon,” Milstead said.

The parish school system has been under court orders since the 1960s when schools were order to desegregate.
