Techsters deflate SJSU

Third cousins Shan Moore and Ty Moore combined for 38 points, 17 rebounds, two assists, three blocked shots and four steals to ignite Louisiana Tech University past the Spartans 74-51 in a critical Western Athletic Conference game.
Shan, a junior guard from Minden, had a career-high 21 points along with eight rebounds, assist, blocked shot and steal. Junior forward Ty of Shreveport netted 17 points, pulled in nine boards, rejected two shots and made three steals.

Return home has dual purpose

But in all fairness that would not be true in the situation that faced our family when I returned to live with both my father and mother.
All divorces are devastating and two sided and leave the partners at least temporarily in shambles. Mine was no different.
Well, perhaps that is not correct. Mine was different in that the support I received from two elderly parents was so spectacular that it got me back on my feet and into life again in a truly remarkable fashion.
Each of my parents contributed different components to my recovery.

Youth learn leadership

Students at Cedar Creek and Ruston Elementary have discovered what it takes to be a good leader.
Louisiana Tech University associate professor of management Rebecca Bennett told Cedar Creek’s leadership group of 55 students that honesty is an integral element in the leadership role.

Theater work picks up speed

Lincoln Builders Vice President and Project Manager Nat Mixon said the theater should be open by late May or early June.
“Over a period of a week we will go from a blank construction site to most of the walls being up,” Mixon said.
The technique being used is called Tilt Wall Concrete Construction. The wall panels are cast on the ground on a slab or casting bed, then the steel reinforced panels are hoisted into place with a large crane, Mixon said.
