Cougars have 10-game slate

Then it’s right back on the Cougar Stadium turf Aug. 24 for a jamboree against Lakeview High.
Next up: a regular season opener on Sept. 1 versus Delhi Charter, which was on the Creek schedule for the first time last year during its inaugural season.
Overall, Aldredge and Company will have their team providing seven opportunities for their fans to attend home games between that mid-August scrimmage and early November regular season finale.
Other home appearances will include Delhi on Sept. 22, Oak Grove on Oct. 6 and Monroe St. Frederick on Oct. 13.

Dubach looks back to build big future

An 1883 dog trot house which sits adjacent to the Scott Hamilton Warehouse is in need of new windows, steps, a bathroom and heating and air. Members of the Dubach Restoration and Beautification Organization (DRABO) hope to transform the historic house to look as it did more than 100 years ago, complete with a surrounding fence.
“I’m just thrilled that (the house) made the move, and work has begun on the restoration,” Dubach Mayor Margaret Rogers said. “We will have a lot of volunteers, men and women, to help locate period pieces of furniture, do landscaping and install a fence.”

Letting others do the hard work

The above example would not be an unlikely scenario when dealing with a person who has autism. The ability to detect social cues is a struggle for both speaking and nonspeaking autistic individuals.

Crack open the world of autism

Since this time, the Arkansas native has served as a speaker about autism at school assemblies and for therapist in-training sessions and written multiple pages describing autism.
His first book, Child of the Forest, is an autobiography and Guidelines to Intervention in Autism is geared toward helping therapists better understand the condition.
In his latest and possibly biggest accomplishment, Hawthorne acted as a contributing writer for The Official Autism 101 Manual, published by Autism Today and now available through Amazon.com.
