State pre-k initiative going strong

In Lincoln Parish, there are four state-funded pre-k classes including the LA 4 class at Simsboro School and five federally funded pre-k classes.

Art abounds in parish

Les Violons du Roy, a world-renowned group of about 16 musicians from Québec City, Canada, transformed Stone Theatre in the Howard Center for the Performing Arts into the Metropolitan Opera House in the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City with its vibrant performance.
Musicians played violins, violas, cellos, double bass and harpsichord while performing chamber orchestra music inspired by works of the Baroque and Classical periods, along with singers Karina Gauvin, soprano, and Robin Blaze, countertenor.

Support piles up for technology center

He said the facility, as it is now, is in its first phase, with phase two allowing for future expansion of the high-bay lab and research and office space additions. He said also the facility has been principally funded by industry contributions from around the country.
Sterling said the trenchless technology department at Tech has collaborated with the city of Ruston on a number of studies, and Ruston uses transfer technology and what is called “pipe bursting” to replace underground pipes.
