Creek, RHS advance

Eagles’ squad flew high and played impressively, going out to double digit leads in the first quarter, being up by 25-11 at halftime and then leading by as many as 18 points in the final two minutes.
“We talked a lot before the game about St. Mary’s not being your typical third place team (out of District 3-1A),” Eagles said. “We knew this wasn’t going to be a walk in the park. I told them to come out and play as if this wasn’t going to be a gimme game. Our players gave a very good effort and maintained it the whole game.”

The proceeds from the cookie sales go to support many aspects of scouting, all of which relate in some way to the basic philosophies of the national program which is supported on a local level by any number of individual troops.
Along with the ingredients actually found in the cookies themselves, the boxes which contain them carry a list of qualities based on various strengths which relate to the aims and goals of Girl Scouts of America.

Recalling Mr. Laney's lessons

I am sure you know what is coming next. As a very proud graduate of A.E. Phillips, I am thrilled to see that my alma mater was so well represented. I would like to offer in these few words some of the things I learned about life itself while under the tutelage of my eighth-grade teacher Alex Laney. I am sure he could tell you some of the things he learned about life from our class, too. We were his first class at A.E. Phillips, and I am quite sure he will never forget us.

Radiothon collects more than $155,000

Partners in Hope will give $20 a month for 12 months to end up with a total of $240, and fishbowls were set up on tables for people to drop bills or cash into. Also, area residents had the opportunity to purchase paper hearts to support the children’s hospital.
“It’s for a worthy cause,” Raley said. “The community has always been good, but it’s astonishing how much they do support.”
Mary Poe, the public service director for the Radio Center, said the center’s stations, Z-107.5 FM, The Peach 99.3 FM and ESPN 97.7 FM, broadcast appeals for donations.
