Florida wears NCAA crown again

“It feels great. This is what we came back to school for,” Florida guard Corey Brewer said. “This is what we’re all about at the University of Florida, winning championships. We’re No. 1 again, two in a row, back-to-back. That’s what we do.”
They celebrated with the usual Gator chomps and took a chomp out of NCAA history, too, becoming the first team to repeat since Duke in 1991-92, the first ever to go back-to-back with the same starting five and adding their name to the debate about the best teams of all time.
Best athletic programs of all time, too.

Interest grows for exhibit

Area residents who have not listened to some of the renowned lecturers or watched the films on China or seen the beautiful artwork that adorns Tolliver Hall and the School of Architecture’s gallery in Hale Hall are missing out. This is a wonderful opportunity to broaden your horizons and see from the perspective of someone who has lived or studied half a world away.

Celebrating New Orleans

As I get a little bit older, I realize how important family is, especially during or near holidays. Now that I don’t see my parents on a weekly basis, I realize how much I miss them and want to see them.
We actually will not spend Easter with my family, but my parents are coming up later this week to pick up our puppy and dog-sit her while we’re away. You know it’s love when they agree to take a yapping, hyper Chihuahua for a week.

Continuing a musical legacy

Ellen Smiley, assistant professor/assistant dean in GSU’s Earl Lester Cole Honors College, said the first day consisted of workshops conducted by GSU students and faculty, followed by “Save the Music” concerts performed by students in GSU’s Music Department.
“The students were very moved by this experience,” she said. “Several students went to these schools or were from New Orleans.”
