’Dogs nearing end of two-a-days

“It’s getting to that point where all of us are ready to see somebody else on the other side rather than our teammates,” admitted senior quarterback Zac Champion. “I am sure every team in the country is feeling that way right now, with the first games getting closer and all and two-a-days about to end.”
Tech had a morning session and then will apply the wraps to the twice-a-day ritual this evening at 7:30.

West Nile threat needs our attention

“Unfortunately, West Nile virus is here, and this is the time of year when we normally see activity pick up,” Aillet said. “Area residents need to be aware of this and take steps to make sure they do everything within their power to protect themselves from mosquito bites.”

Crime scenes are not just a click of the remote control away. The concept of these shows is brilliant, if only real life criminals were as sloppy or creative as the ones featured in these shows.
If anything, these shows probably give real life criminals tips and ways to know how to do “their job” better.

Area schools back in session; police encourage driver safety

Ruston Police Lt. Curtis Hawkins said every year toward the beginning of school, the RPD steps up patrol in areas around different school zones.
“We want to remind everyone ASAP when school starts that it’s back in, (so) people will pay attention and take a few extra moments to look for signs,” Hawkins said. “Now’s a great time of year for parents to remind their young, inexperienced drivers that school’s in, and they need to look out for school zones, pedestrians and school bus stops.”
