Students plan for the future

“Most of the scholarships must be applied for online, and we encourage seniors to apply for as many as they can,” White said. “The majority of these can be used at any college or university, and some include technical and community colleges.”
The applications, which may be based on parental income, grades or extracurricular involvement, are usually extensive and require an essay, White said. Lady Techsters host hot Aggies

It’s those two teams who are currently tied for first place in the nine-member loop.
Tech (7-9, 1-2) has dropped two of its last three games, the most recent being an 85-68 decision to defending co-regular season champion Boise State on the Karl Malone Court last weekend.

Oakes’ resignation a shock

Into his office stepped Jim Oakes with a letter of resignation as the athletic director.
Try as he might, Reneau couldn’t change the mind of the Homer native who had served his alma mater for the past 13 years as its leader on the athletic scene.
“I’ve tried to several times since then, but when Jim makes a decision, he is going to stay with it,” Reneau said late Wednesday afternoon following a 20-minute press conference at the Hall of Fame Room in the Thomas Assembly Center. “He feels that this is the time to leave and that it is the best time.”
