Techsters start long stay at TAC

It’s the first of five in a row on their home court and all are critical in helping create a comfortable niche for the Techsters in the nine-member league race.
“These home games couldn’t have come at a better time,” said Techsters’ coach Chris Long. “If we can take care of our business, win four or five of these games, then we can be in the thick of the race.”

Talladega coach Matt Cross said the situation played out like this — GSU said Tuesday’s game would be delayed because they needed to wait for the officials to arrive, which would push back the 7 p.m. tipoff time. He was told about 20 minutes later that the game was off. He asked to reschedule. That suggestion got a cold reception.

Folklorist seeks volunteers to assemble parish history

“These cultural resources give us a record of who we were and how we have changed, as well as the actual voices and expressions of important community members and family,” Roach said.
The goal is to capture for posterity what life was like in Lincoln Parish during the Great Depression.
“I am hoping that we can train enough community members, ranging from high school students to senior citizens, to interview a large group of our community’s octogenarians and older folks whose experiences can enlighten us,” Roach said.
