Tech’s King, Gresham earn scholastic honor

Senior forward Kiva Gresham and junior forward Rachel King of the Louisiana Tech soccer team have been named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic all-District VI Team.
“It is a great honor for both Kiva and Rachel to receive this award,” head coach Kevin Sherry said. “They set the standard of our program and we are extremely proud of them. We emphasize academics very strongly and urge our players to give their best not only on the field of play, but in the classroom and in the community too.”

Not your average band

GSU alums to hit field for homecoming

GRAMBLING — The Grambling State Tiger Band has for years traveled all across the country and even worldwide entertaining countless thousands of people.
So it’s only fitting that this weekend, former band members who performed from the 1960s – 2000s will return to GSU to join the current Tiger Marching Band to perform during Saturday’s halftime show at Robinson Stadium.
The group, called “GSU Alumni Band — 100 Horses for 2010”— said the reunion is to honor the legacy of the late legendary bandmaster Professor Conrad “Hutch” Hutchinson, Jr.

Library worker booked on video voyeurism charge

A Lincoln Parish Library employee faces a video voyeurism charge after police say he took pictures of women’s legs and buttocks without their permission.
Joel Brooks Robertson, 36, of Louisiana Highway 821, has been released from the Lincoln Parish Detention Center on a $2,000 bond.
According to Robertson’s arrest affidavit, Ruston Police Department received a call in reference to a white male taking pictures of females inside Walmart on Oct. 29. It noted the man was wearing a T-shirt from the library.
