Richard Earl “Dick” Crawford

Funeral services for Richard Earl “Dick” Crawford, age 74, of Calhoun, LA will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1st at First Baptist Church, Calhoun, LA. The service will be officiated by Rev. Neil Everett and Rev. Werner Aswell. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday, January 31st from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. Mr. Crawford was born on May 28th, 1936 to Bertie Aswell Crawford and William Crawford.

Arliss Morelle Barr

Arliss Morelle Barr, 82, of Ruston was born July 19, 1928, in the Oak Ridge community near Vernon in Jackson Parish to William Hiram and Annie Carroll Barr.  He passed away at his home in Ruston on January 28, 2011, following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Iley Barr, Archie Barr, and Robert Barr; sister Prairie Barr Hodde; and infant great-granddaughter Zoë Grace Foster.

Catherine has first deer, too

Catherine Kirby of Ruston recently shot her first deer while hunting with Justin Avery on land owned by his uncle and aunt, David and Trissy Avery of Summerfield. The doe was killed with a single shot from a Remington Model 700 .25-06 while Kirby was home on a break from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

First deer for Christion

Christion James-Ray Hernandez recently killed his first deer (a spike) while hunting with his grandfather, Bo Pickering. They were hunting at the Shiloh Hunting Club near Port Gibson, Miss. Christion lives in Ruston with his parents, Jeremy and Jamie Wheeler.
