Parenting isn’t exactly what Jason Jones expected, but he says that’s OK.
“It’s not what I thought it would be,” Jason said. “It’s totally different, but better. You think at the beginning with all the diapers and crying that it’s too much, but it’s not as hard. The benefits far outweigh the struggles.”

Carroll, Haymon exchange vows in June 18 ceremony

Millie Claire Carroll, of Ruston, and Jacob Daniel Haymon, of Pineville, were united in holy matrimony in an 11 a.m. ceremony June 18 at Douglas United Methodist Church. The ceremony was officiated by Dr. Mike Holloway.

DeGrie, Killeen marry in May

Elizabeth Ruth-Anne DeGrie, of Pineville, and Nathan Daniel Killeen, of New Orleans, were married in a 3 p.m. ceremony May 21 at Lakeside Baptist Church in Pineville.
The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Sherwood Hawthorne.
The bride is the daughter of Earl and Sharon Douzart, of Pineville. She is the granddaughter of Donnie Sober, of Pineville, and the late Ruth Sober.

Latest adventure causes laughs

Happy Father's Day!
This week is full, and I can hardly wait for the shower granddaughter Susan and I are going to in Little Rock, Ark., but right now, I’m laughing at our latest adventure.
For days, daughter-in-law Mary Hilan kept declaring she heard a noise in the attic atop the second floor. Well, I don’t hear that well, so I suggested maybe she had “Bats in her belfry.”
That didn’t go over too well, as you would imagine.

Arrest made in Tech thefts

An arrest has been made in conjunction with recent burglaries at Louisiana Tech University dormitories.
Tech Police Chief Randal Hermes said this morning that Ross Eddie George, 28, of the 600 block of Bond Street just off the Tech campus, was arrested Thursday and charged with unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.
