McMahone, Jenkins to marry in August wedding

Mr. and Mrs. Don McMahone Jr. are pleased to announce the engagement and approaching wedding of their daughter Meagan Dianna McMahone, of Ruston, to Dustin Michael Jenkins, of Franklinton.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Samuel Morgan, of Ruston, Harvene Watterson McMahone, of Minden, and the late Don McMahone Sr.

Meagan is a 2007 alumna of Ruston High School and graduated from Louisiana State University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology.
She will serve as policy coordinator for the Governor’s Office of Coastal Activities.

Jones, Hammons set to exchange vows June 25

Mr. and Mrs. Shannon D. Jones, of Ruston, are pleased to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter Jessica Nicole Jones, of Ruston, to Mason Lane Hammons, of Dubach.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie M. Jones, of Choudrant, Helen McGee, of Shreveport, and the late James C. Roberts, of Saline. Jessica as a 2010 alumna of Downsville High School.

Smith, Cappello to wed

David Alan Smith and Emily Elizabeth Cappello, both of Ruston, are pleased to announce their engagement and approaching wedding.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Marc and Mary Jane Cappello, of Bossier City, and the granddaughter of the late Dean and Rutledge Jones and the late Ida and Angelo Cappello.
Emily is a 2003 alumna of Minden High School and a 2009 alumna of Louisiana Tech University.

She is a teacher in Webster Parish.

FARMERVILLE — The Union Parish Sheriff’s office said a body discovered in a heavily-wooded area on Sunday has been identified as Jeremy Wayne Hudson of Farmerville.

Students participate, place in Final Cyber Challenge

On June 4, students, parents, teachers and administrators watched as robots rolled through the streets of Louisiana Tech’s main campus and the Washington, D.C. National Mall as part of the Final Cyber Challenge, a robotics competition that decides the overall winner of the fourth Annual Cyber Discovery Camp.
