Public outcry continues as domestic violence programs across our state endure the painful process of cutting staff and services in response to Gov. Bobby Jindal’s mid-year budget cuts. It is now more important than ever that we begin our efforts to ensure that these cuts are not permanent. As the legislative session approaches, the Domestic Abuse Resistance Team is reaching out to each of the senators and representatives who serve our seven parishes. We are also in communication with our United States senators and representatives. We want them, as well as the districts they represent, to know how critical our services are, and how profound the loss will be if they are cut.
