Dawson Geophysical, on behalf of Seitel Data, LTD will be conducting seismic activity, using the shot hole and vibroseis methods, in the areas depicted on the map shown below.

There will be a public meeting located at (Lincoln Parish Library Events Center, starting at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 4th, to answer any questions pertaining to this seismic survey.

Lewis’ celebrate 60 years of marriage

More than 100 friends and family attended the 60th wedding anniversary dinner party of Richard B. Lewis and MaryJane Lewis, of Ruston, held April 9 in the Temple Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Ruston. The couple were wed April 6, 1956. The celebration was hosted by their two sons — Rick and Jon — and grandchildren — Andrea, Sydney, Bryn, Tucker and Joshua — with help from Ruston friends.

LONGSTRAW MEETING

The Board of Directors of Longstraw Union Church, Inc. announces a business meeting will be held on May 1, 2016, at Longstraw Baptist Church following its annual Memorial Day/Homecoming service. The service will begin at 10:30 am; dinner on the grounds will follow; then the business meeting will begin between 1:30 and 2:00 in the Fellowship Hall of Longstraw Baptist. The agenda will include voting for the coming year’s Board of Directors.

Hearn, Fish to wed at Temple Baptist

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hearn Jr., of Ruston, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Lauren Amanda Hearn to Joshua Matthew Fish, of Minden.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Hearn Sr., of Ruston; and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Stewart.

She is a 2010 graduate of Ruston High School and a 2013 graduate of Louisiana Tech University.

Lauren is currently employed as a kindergarten teacher at Glen View Elementary School.

MEETING

The Lincoln Parish School Board met in Regular Session on Tuesday, April 6, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Lincoln Parish School Board Office, 410 South Farmerville Street, Ruston, Louisiana. Members present were Ms. Debbie Abrahm, Mr. Michael Barmore, Ms. Lisa Best, Mr. Curtis Dowling, Mr. David Ferguson, Mr. Danny Hancock, Mr. Trott Hunt, Mr. George Mack, Jr., Mr. Joe Mitcham, and Ms. Susan Wiley.

The Grambling City Council will hold a Public Hearing Thursday, May 5, 2016, at 5:45 p.m. the Public Hearing at Grambling City Hall & Community Center, 127 King Street, Grambling, Louisiana for the purpose of the following:
ANORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAMBLING TO DECLARE PROPERTY AS SURPLUS AND TO AUTHORIZE SALE OF SAID SURPLUS PROPERTY
1982 Fire Truck-- The minimum purchase price for the sale of this property shall be $15,000.
The property may be inspected at the Grambling Fire Department between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
