Funeral services for Mr. Frank Wayne Martin, Sr., age 77 of Ruston, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston. Rev. Jeff May will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Douglas Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

Those with a knack for growing things are said to have a green thumb. But some of those thumbs are even greener than the others. Mayme Caver’s could best be described as forest green as she could seemingly grow anything, and often did. Gardening was her favorite pastime, but her nurturing care was also greatly felt by both family and friends — and will be greatly missed, too.
Mayme Caver passed away July 25, 2016 in Austin, Texas, and with little doubt the gardens of Heaven are already more lush.

Funeral services will be held for Glenn Edward Miller, 57, at the Alabama Baptist Church, north of Arcadia, on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Alabama Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1680 First St. in Arcadia.
Glenn was born Jan. 28, 1959 in Bernice, LA to Chester and Fannie Taylor Miller. He passed away on Saturday, July 30th at Minden Medical Center following a sudden illness. Glenn was a trucking supervisor in the oilfield.

Funeral services for Lavera Britt Jenkins, 95, of Dubach, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Fellowship Baptist Church. Bro. Connie Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at Fellowship Cemetery, Dubach, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.

September 19, 1954 –July 24, 2016: Suddenly, after a brief illness, on July 24, 2016, Todd Allen Hall exchanged his earthly home and body for a heavenly one.
A 1972 graduate of Ruston High School, he attended Louisiana Tech University and then served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked in computer and peripheral sales for many years before returning to his first love, medicine, as a registered nurse with a nursing degree from Lonestar College in Kingwood, Texas. Todd had been an active member of Strawbridge United Methodist Church in Kingwood, TX since 1999.

Funeral services for Ira Thomas Taylor, Sr., 91, of Ruston, LA will be held Friday, July 29, 2016 at 10 AM at the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Rev. Bob Deich will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston.
Ira Thomas (Tom) Taylor (Lt. Col, Ret., USAF) died Monday, July 25, 2016, in Ruston, LA at the age of 91 after battling cancer.
He was born in Cisco, TX on July 17, 1925 to Ira Mae and John Thomas Taylor and spent his early years in and around the Cisco area.

GRAMBLING’S ORIGINAL FIRST LADY DIES AT 101 YEARS
Funeral services for Mrs. Eula Turner Woodard, widow of Grambling’s first mayor, will be held Saturday, July 23, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at New Rocky Valley Baptist Church, Grambling, LA.
At her 100th birthday party in April 2015, she received recognitions from Grambling State University Research Club, various church and social ministries, State Representative Patrick Jefferson, District Attorney John Belton, and President Barack Obama.

William Sanders “Bill” Baskin of Ruston, 93, passed away at home on Monday, July 18, 2016. Bill was born in Crowville, LA on November 13, 1922 to Sanders and Gladys Kinman Baskin. He graduated from Ruston High School and received a baccalaureate degree in business from Louisiana Polytechnic Institute in 1942.
Bill served both as an active and reserve officer as Major in the USAF from 1942 to 1965, flying P-38, P-39, P-40 and his favorite, the P-51 Mustang. He was selected with six other pilots to be in the first experimental jet fighter squadron test flying the XP-59A.

Maxine Davidson Beckham passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 surrounded by her loving family and faithful cat, Duchess. Services to honor her life will be at 10:00am Friday, July 22, 2016 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Dubach, LA, Hwy. 151 where she was baptized as a child and was a lifelong member. Bro. Connie Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at the Fellowship Cemetery where Maxine could trace her family back for 4 generations. Arrangements are under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.
