Funeral services for Mr. Johnny Pierce Frasier, age 77 of Shreveport, will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 3, 2013.  Officiating the service will be Rev. Tuck Roberts. Burial will follow in Culbertson Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Frasier was born October 6, 1935 in Vienna, LA to Virgil Frasier and Ava Otwell Frasier. He died September 29, 2013 in Shreveport after a lengthy illness. Services to celebrate the life of Lester Lavelle Hood, age 92, will be held Friday, October 4, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Arcadia. Bro. Jeff Hoffman will officiate. He will be laid to rest at St. Rest Cemetery in Lincoln Parish. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Roseneath Funeral Home in Arcadia. Graveside services for Mr. Ashton Attis Wilkerson are scheduled for Sunday, September 29, 2013, 2:00 p.m., at the Grambling Memorial Garden Cemetery. In case of inclement weather services will be at Memorial Funeral Home in Arcadia. Ashton was born in Ruston, LA on November 13, 1936 to the union of Esther Goree and Calvin A. Wilkerson. Upon the death of his mother in 1937, “Jerry,” as he was affectionately known, grew up in the home of his maternal aunt, Nulon Goree Williams and uncle Joe E. Williams, Sr.

Mrs. Mary Margaret Barr, 87, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 after a brief illness. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at 10:00 am at Broadmoor United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Ken Irby and Rev. Kathy Wafer of Broadmoor United Methodist Church. Mrs. Barr was born Sept. 11, 1926 to Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Stamps. She was a proud Texan and claimed the entire state as her native home - never wanting to favor one city over the other of the many Texas locales in which she resided.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches for Mrs. George Doherty, the former Mary Jeanne Mabry, 90, who passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends, Tuesday, September 24 at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. Interment will be at Memory Lawn in Natchitoches. The Reverend Doug de Graffenreid will officiate the services. Mrs. Doherty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George, her parents, and two brothers.
