Warn teens about dangers of drinking
Spring is in the air, and for local high-school upperclassmen spring brings prom. Unfortunately, for some of them it also brings underage drinking and poor driving decisions.
On Friday during a “mock crash,” Ruston High students got a first-hand glimpse of what could happen if they make the decision to drink and drive. Students were presented with a realistic scene complete with fake blood, broken glass and police and emergency response teams.
According to the presentation given by the Ruston High School “Get Out There” team, which is devoted to stopping underage drinking and drug use, someone dies in an alcohol-related crash approximately every 20 minutes.
