Louisiana Tech University’s Aviation Department recently received its Final Visiting Team Report submitted following the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) Review Committee’s visit this fall to study the school’s aviation program, and came away from the review with positive findings.
In addition to the favorable assessment, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted authority to Tech to certify graduates of its authorized aviation degree program(s) to be eligible for an Airline Transport Pilot certificate with reduced aeronautical experience.
At approximately 5:36 p.m. Friday, Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash on Interstate 20 about 12 miles west of Ruston.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2002 Nissan Maxima, driven by 34-year-old Heather Berry, of Ruston, was traveling east on Interstate 20 when the Nissan ran off the left side of the road.

On the meeting agenda were general fund budget requests for 2012, and a few agency representatives showed up to plead their cases.
Each year, the jury provides funding for a number of agencies and organizations, such as the Lincoln Parish District Attorney’s office, Keep Lincoln Parish Beautiful and the Sparta Ground Water Commission.
