Ruston High School athletics director and former head football coach Billy Laird remains hospitalized at Northern Lincoln Medical Center this morning after reportedly suffering a stroke over the weekend.
Billy Laird’s son Brad Laird, who succeeded his father as the Bearcat’s head football coach in 2013, said he first took his father to NLMC on Friday.
“I took him in on Friday and they released him around lunch on Saturday,” Brad Laird said.
From 2 -4 p.m. today the Lincoln Parish Library will kick-off its 2013 summer reading program at the Lincoln Parish Library Events Center.
The library encourages residents to take this opportunity to sign their children up for the summer reading program. Registration will be available for children, infants through sixth grade. The registration will include information about story times, crafts, games and special guests.
Children will also receive reading logs to track their progress throughout the summer.
