Squire Creek was filled with wigs of many colors, as the second annual Wiggin’ Out commenced on Oct. 11. An event associated with the sixth annual “Bulldogs Tackling Breast Cancer” campaign, the fundraiser attracted hundreds of attendees and raised more than $10,000.
“The show of support at tonight’s event was unbelievable. We were expecting a great turnout, but this by far exceeded what we were hoping for,” said Elizabeth Turnley, director of marketing and physician liaison with the Northern Louisiana Medical Center, one of the fundraiser’s title sponsors. “It was truly a great feeling to watch everyone having a great time while helping raise money for a great cause. This event could not have happened without the generous support of those who attended.”
Don’t be surprised if the University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners hit the road out of historic Aillet Stadium next month completely wigged out.
That’s because on S Oct. 18, Northern Louisiana Medical Center will once again present “Bulldogs Tackling Breast Cancer,” its annual partnership with Tech athletics to battle breast cancer. This year all proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit Wiggin Out, a local nonprofit that raises money to assist men, women and children who are undergoing cancer treatment with all proceeds staying in North Louisiana.
