The Dubach Restoration and Beautification Organization will bring Christmas spirit during its 15th annual Christmas in Dubach event.
Events coordinator Gina Stokes said more than 30 vendors will display Christmas gifts for purchase from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Scott Hamilton Warehouse.
“We have everything for Christmas gift ideas,” she said. “We have booths that will sell quilts, yard decorations, pots, Christmas ornaments, purses, jewelry and all sorts of other stuff. We will also be selling chicken and sausage gumbo — $3.50 a bowl and $7 a quart.”
More than 546 Lincoln Parish sixth graders from eight schools participated in a cross-curricular, multicultural, hands-on musical performance called Hands on with Zig at the Dixie Center of the Arts.
North Central Louisiana Arts Council Executive Director Jessica Slaughter said NCLAC’s hosts an annual School Performance Series where the council invites students every fall to experience a unique genre of music at the Dixie.
This year’s presentation came from Nashville based educator and musician Zig Wajler who combines several genres of music while interacting with students.
At approximately 3 p.m. Thursday, the Ruston Fire Department, Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office and Choudrant Fire Department responded to a call reporting a vehicle being struck by a train at Louisiana Highway 145 and the crossing of Kansas City Southern railroad tracks. Eric Brazzel, public education officer with RFD, said RFD responded with an ambulance, rescue and a command vehicle.
