OUACHITA PARISH — On June 5, investigators with the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations and Homeland Security Investigations charged 52-year-old Michael Golden of Downsville with two counts of child molestation. The arrest was the result of an investigation of a website that traffics in child pornography.
Two Louisiana Tech nursing educators attended the National Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses Convention held in Las Vegas.
Nancy Darland, professor, and Tanya Sims, assistant professor, attended the convention, “Sharing Science: Finding Solutions.” It offered more than 70 concurrent sessions, paper presentations and panel discussions, 150 poster presentations and four general sessions that addressed all aspects of women’s health and newborn nursing.
“Attending the AWHONN 2010 Convention enhanced our nursing knowledge and skills, which will enable us to provide updated information for Tech nursing students and better care for our patients in the clinical setting,” Darland said. “We will be able to pass on much of what we learn to our colleagues in the Division of Nursing and to RNs on the units where we go for clinical experiences
Grambling residents voiced their opinions and asked questions about the possibility of districting the city on Thursday night.
Louisiana Sen. Rick Gallot was on hand to present information regarding the districting so that residents would be more informed on the topic.
More than 25 residents came out to the informational meeting organized by Grambling Alderman Cullen Jackson.
Through a PowerPoint presentation, Gallot informed the group that in order to district the city the population of each district would have to be equal, with no more than a 10 percent variation in population.
The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Lincoln Parish Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested a 31-year-old West Monroe woman Wednesday afternoon after officers reportedly found hypodermic needles, a glass pipe and drugs in her car.
Cindy Brown Ticheli, 164 Biedenharn Drive, was arrested on charges of possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a schedule III controlled substance, possession of a legend drug and possession of a schedule I controlled substance.
