She asked him questions to keep him conscious and then left the family dog with her sibling while she rushed to get help.

“She knew she had to go get help,” said the children’s mother. “Most kids, I think, with it being their brother would not have left.”

Community residents need to make sure that their children are aware of what to do if an accident occurs.

While elementary students learn what to do in case of a fire, it is usually up to the parents to teach their children not to panic in case of an emergency.
