Missy Wooley’s STEM and New Tech chemistry classes recently took their learning off the Ruston High School campus and into Carson Taylor Hall at Louisiana Tech University. There the students studied with Bill Deese, T. W. Ray Johnson professor of chemistry, who engaged them in a highly entertaining lecture filled with his trademark demonstrations as the group explored the topic of chemical reactions. Jim Taylor Ford stopped by Ruston High School to present $100 cash awards to the student and teacher winners following the first Drive 4 UR School event sponsored by the Ruston business. Recently named Business of the Year by the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, Jim Taylor provided an opportunity for students and teachers to place their name in a drawing for every participant they had come test drive a new Ford vehicle and help raise funds for the school.
