Teen killed on U.S. 80
A 16-year-old boy is dead after his vehicle collided with a wooden utility pole early this morning.
Just after midnight, a Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office parked radar unit observed a 2003 Honda Accord speeding on U.S. Highway 80.
Maj. Stephen Williams, spokesman for LPSO, said the unit had been set up running radar when a vehicle came by going 79 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone.
He added the unit then pulled out after the speeding vehicle, signaling his emergency lights in an attempt to stop the vehicle.
