Services for Mr. Glen E. Hunt, age 89, of Ruston will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Temple Baptist Church Chapel. Officiating the service will be Dr. Rick Byargeon. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Mr. Hunt was born February 25, 1922 in Krum, Texas and passed away May 30, 2011 in Ruston, Louisiana following a lengthy illness. On May 30, 2011, we said good-bye to Glen Hunt, a wonderful Husband, Daddy, Paw-Paw, Pops and Friend. He will be remembered for his love of God, family and friends. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family, and his friends, he enjoyed shopping, mowing, and playing dominos. Mr. Hunt served in the US Air Force and was a veteran of WWII. He worked for Morton Potato Chip for over 30 years, and Cranford Grocery for 18 years, he mowed yards until the age of 75. He is survived by his wife Rose Cranford Hunt of Ruston; children: Teressa Kearce and husband Joe of Omega, GA., Donna McIntire and husband Charles of Ruston, LA, Beverly Hurst and husband Daniel (Woody) of Moultrie, GA, Vicki McKellar and husband Ricky of Scooterville, GA, and Jennifer Adams and husband Jeff of Ruston, LA ; 2 step-sons: Steve Cranford of Simsboro, LA and Mike Cranford and wife Dori of Columbia, MO; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Phillip Johnson, Greg Alexander, Bill Cox, Arvel Newson, Robert Davis, and Mike Collie. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Davis Sunday School Class, Dr. Shane Phillips, Dr. Billy Smith, Dr. Michael Nammour, Dr. Jake Wood and Dr. Will Sanders. The family would like to thank the Dialysis Center and the nurses and aides at the PCU and ICU at Northern Louisiana Medical Center. Memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church Sharing the Light building Fund. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.
