In an unprecedented move by the Student Government Association’s Supreme Court, Smith was removed from office after an appeal was made by Babcock supporter Tyler Landry. Smith then appealed and won his case. Not to be deterred, Babcock, Landry and Tech student Heather Bowden continued the appeals process to determine whether or not the proper election and appeals process had been carried out.

The situation reached the Academic Review Board last week, and the group chose to uphold the decision made by the Student Organization Committee the previous week.
