The city’s long-term plan is to transform these parking spaces into parallel parking spots, so that drivers are not backing into the street.

A new business can go in, but the “no parking” signs must come down.

This was the unanimous decision of Ruston City Council members Monday when asked to approve a conditional use permit for a dance studio to be opened at 414 W. California St.
The building owned by Robert Flournoy has a few other tenants in addition to the dance studio owner, and Flournoy said clients utilize the 11 parking spaces on the west side of the building.
