B.T. Woodard was a Grambling trailblazer
Martha Bennette Woodard Andrus
GRAMBLING — In 1943 residents of the unincorporated area known as Grambling lived in the dust churned up by horses and a few cars — the community didn’t have paved streets. Nor did it have running water, a sewer system, telephones or natural gas service.
What it did have was a man with a vision, a hope and a dream for the future. Thanks to him, Grambling is now a model city with wide paved streets, beautiful homes with manicured lawns and all the amenities of much larger cities.
