When conditions are dry, fires are more likely to flare up, says Lincoln Parish Fire District spokesman Jim Hilton.

In fact, with current dry conditions, firefighters responded to three incidents on Thursday — two grass fires and a car fire.

Hilton said the first grass fire broke out around 2:30 p.m. on Dunn Road just north of Grambling. Ironically, this is the exact same site of a grass fire the day before that, he said, which is on private property.
