The title track “Lie to Me” flooded my ears and became the epitome of blues music for me.

I was coming off of the Backstreet Boys/N’Sync era that affected many girls my age at that time, no matter how ashamed we may be to admit it. (Don’t even act like you don’t have “I love Nick Carter” scribbled all over your diary.) Jonny Lang’s music was so different that it even inspired me to take the first steps of learning to play the guitar.

The next Christmas when my grandmother asked me what I wanted, instead of just saying “I don’t know” like usual, I said, “A guitar.”
