St. Francis Medical Center is expanding once again, this time with a facility in Ruston.
At 10 a.m. Tuesday, community members will gather at 1200 Celebrity Drive to witness a groundbreaking and “Blessing of the Soil” for the St. Francis Medical Office Building — Ruston.
This will be the first St. Francis Medical Center campus in Lincoln Parish.
St. Francis Marketing and Public Relations Manager Saundra Nalley said the building will house several different services for use by residents.
Candidates for 3rd Judicial District Court Judge and District Attorney answered questions from Lincoln Parish residents Monday night at a TEA Party political forum held at the Ruston Country Club.
Three candidates for the judgeship; Lewis Jones, Tommy Rogers and Tyler Storms; and two candidates for DA, John Belton and Cary Brown, presented their platforms to audience members in alphabetical order before addressing specific issues conferred by individuals.
At approximately 1:32 p.m. Friday, Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested asuspect of an armed robbery and aggravated assault with a firearm.
Charles Ladarren Owens at 137 Marie St. in Grambling was wanted for the two charges in Ouachita Parish that were reportedly commited on Oct. 7. LPSO also arrested Shetoquice Walker as an accessory to the crimes after the fact.
The 2015 Sparta Shoot was held Saturday at the Ouachita Sheriff’s Rifle Range. A total of 85 shooters competed in the competition. All proceeds will be used for conservation education through WaterFest activities.
