A sidewalk will be built through this gravel area in-between Second and Lewis streets.

Currently, the street is very narrow, and when a driver pulls up to the stop sign at its intersections with Martin Luther King Drive and Cornell Avenue, the continuing road is not directly in front of the driver, but catercorner. Through working with project engineer and construction manager Riley Company (contracted for $100,000 for construction oversight and inspection during the project), Amethyst Construction is slated to move portions of Lewis Street over about 50 feet in certain locations to align the intersections.
