When the new U.S. Congressional districts map for Louisiana cleared the United States Department of Justice earlier this month, it evoked various responses from Lincoln Parish’s state representatives.

The new map was redrawn to better align the districts with the population shifts shown in the 2010 U.S. Census. It shrank the number of representatives from seven to six, but retained two North Louisiana-based districts, including the Fifth District of Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman.
