New Tech reveals pilot year results
The results are in and it appears that New Tech @ Ruston is passing.
At a Lincoln Parish School Board meeting earlier this month, Cathi Cox-Boniol, director of New Tech, told the board about the program’s pilot year.
Cox-Boniol shared data that revealed that the 96 students who finished the year in New Tech had 509 total absences in eighth grade. However, in ninth grade they had 379 absences.
“One of the things when we looked at bringing New Tech to Ruston High School and Lincoln Parish was not just for higher achievement on tests, but it was also to address our dropout issue,” Cox-Boniol said.
