This fallen limb, across the street from Emmanuel Baptist Church on Louisiana Highway 33, was leftover from the storm on Monday.

A storm that blew in Monday afternoon left about 4,000 local power customers in the dark for a few hours.

City of Ruston Power and Light Manager Darrell Caraway said a large limb broke out of a tree at 1105 Louisiana Highway 33 near Emmanuel Baptist Church.

“It tore down a power line and landed on a mail truck,” Caraway said. “It happened about 4:30 p.m., and about 2,000 customers were out of power in the northeast and southeastern section of town.”
