Chicken Fest to spice up Dubach

The Strut, Cackle and Crow contest, where the goal is to effectively imitate a chicken, is a popular event

The 23rd annual Louisiana Chicken Festival is right around the corner along with a wide array of events for area residents to attend.

Judy Beavers, vice president of Dubach Restoration and Beautification Organization, said there are normally between 2,000 and 3,000 people that come out for the annual festival in Dubach.
“For the main festival days we have about 500, but festivities go on for the duration of the week meaning a lot more people can come out and participate in events,” Beavers said. “This year we’re going to have a lot of good food and entertainment for people to come out to eat and see.”
