Leachman, Easley exchange vows
Taylor Leachman, of Ruston, and David Easley Jr., of Cedar Bluff, Miss., were married in a 6 p.m. ceremony Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Ruston.
The Rev. J.D. Shaw and Butch Simmons officiated the wedding ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Leachman. She is the granddaughter of Sally Leachman, of Ruston, the late Fred Leachman, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Swiatowicz, of Haughton, and the late Mr. and Mrs. H. Leon Taylor.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Easley Sr. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Montgomery, of Port Gibson, Miss., Louise McBride, of Brookhaven, Miss., and the late L.J. McBride.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory, strapless luxe taffeta ball gown with crystal and pearl beading overlaying the bodice. Crystal beading and silver embroidered appliqués adorned the skirt, which extended to a chapel length train. Taylor completed her look with a fingertip, tulle veil trimmed with silver embroidery and crystal beading. She carried a hand-held bouquet of cream roses, white hydrangeas, jasmine, willow and green berries wrapped in Alceon lace. Her bouquet was adorned with her grandfather’s wedding band. The altar was filled with a shower of orchids.
Megan Hopkins, of Hoover, Ala., served Taylor as maid of honor for the ceremony. Tracy Anderson, of Clinton, Miss., Kelsey Davidson, of Ruston, Sarah Easley, of Cedar Bluff, Miss., Emily Fleming, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Erin Haifley, of Ruston, Meagan Jenkins, of Baton Rouge, Kelsey Nurnberg, of Ankeny, Iowa, Shekinah Siegmund, of Ruston, and Elizabeth Thomas, of Southaven, Miss., all served as bridesmaids.
Each bridesmaid wore brown, strapless knee-length dresses made of luxe taffeta with ruffled fabric at the hemline. They each carried hand-held bouquets of cream Eskimo roses, blush spray roses and green cushion mums wrapped in celedon ribbons.
Davis Easley Sr., of Cedar Bluff, Miss., served David as best man for the wedding. Adam Easley, of Cedar Bluff, Miss., Seth Carroll, of Baton Rouge, Jonathan Stoll, of Columbus, Miss., Joshua Stoll, of Columbus, Miss., Matthew McKenzie, of Starkville, Miss., Chad Leachman, of Ruston, Clay Leachman, of Jackson, Griffin Sullivan, of Madison, Miss., Ryan Hutto, of Starville, Miss., Landon Mumbower, of Clinton, Miss., and John McCall, of Kitumbi, Tanzania, were groomsmen for the ceremony.
Program attendants were Ellen Wallace, of Starkville, Miss., Nicole Smylie, of Starkville, Miss., and Amanda Criss, of Hunstville, Ala. Bridal book attendant was Sara Whitten, of Memphis, Tenn., and scripture reader was Emily Francis, of Starkville, Miss.
Music for the wedding was provided by Heidi Brasher, Joe Brown and Chris Hanchey.
A reception was held for the couple at Lincoln Parish Library Events Center and was catered by Aramark catering.
A rehearsal dinner was held in the couple’s honor at the Historic Fire station in Ruston on Friday. The rehearsal dinner was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. David Easley Sr.
Prior to the wedding a few showers were held for the couple. A family shower was held July 22 at the home of Skipper and Angie Leachman. The shower was hosted by Scott and Tammy Coates, Angie and Skipper Leachman and Sybil Leachman.
On July 23, a miscellaneous shower was held at the home of Jimmy and Susie Leonard, of Ruston. Hostesses for the shower were Susie Leonard, Melinda McMahone, Pam Flowers, Gay Magee, Kym Ingram, Debbie Hauser, Rose MacDaniels, Gloria Elliot, Sandy Whitman, Amy Beasley, Barbara Braswell, Jennifer Morgan, Andrea Phillips and Susan Odom.
A Kentucky Derby Style shower was hosted by Tracy Anderson, Amanda Criss, Sarah Easley, Ellen Wallace, Emily Fleming, Megan Hopkins, Nicole Smylie, Elizabeth Thomas and Sara Whitten. The shower was held at the home of Dora Herring, of Starkville, Miss., on Aug. 21.
A lingerie shower was held Aug. 19 in Jackson, Miss., by the bridesmaids.
The couple will honeymoon in New York City, N.Y., and upon returning will reside in Mobile, Ala.
