Teens are invited to feel the power of the force at 4 p.m. Oct. 11. In partnership with Random House, Penguin Publishing and DK, the library will celebrate National “Star Wars” Reads Day in the Lincoln Community Room.
Along with many freebies from library partners, teens will also participate in “Star Wars” Trivia; learn Jedi paper tricks, play intergalactic games in addition to tasting Wookie cookies and Yoda soda. A prize will be awarded for the best “Star Wars” costume.
Billy Graham, of Ruston, earned the Willie C. Smith Aviation Service Award during the third annual MPCATA Awards Banquet and Birthday Celebration. He is a retired Lt. Col. from the United States Army, serving as a military pilot for 24 years. He also earned his commercial pilot’s license from the Federal Aviation Administration. He served two combat tours in Vietnam, two in Europe and lived overseas for 17 years.
During his military career he received an Air Medal, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medals and more than 30 other awards and honors.
