Rachel Huckaby was a triple threat at last Saturday’s Day of Service. She was a Special Olympic athlete participant, the daughter of a Cedar Creek coach and teacher, as well as a member of the sponsoring church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Mormons.

The Special Olympics, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Cedar Creek’s chapter of National Honor Society joined forces recently to provide an opportunity for a very special group of athletes.

Part of the Second annual Day of Service, spearheaded by Latter-day Saint congregations throughout the southeast United States, the event at the Cedar Creek football field was a success.
