Town looks to ban ‘jake braking’

DUBACH — A variety of issues were brought before the Dubach Town Council last week.
The Town Council met in regular session to discuss two ordinances, surplus equipment and purchasing an aerator for the south pond.

Ordinance 317 was introduced by Mayor Ray Polk in regards to the issue of “jake braking” by 18-wheeler trucks within the village limits. Jake breaking is the use of a compression release engine brake to bring the vehicle to a halt, which results in a loud noise.
