Conserve water, offset new costs
Ruston residents can expect their monthly bills to be a little higher in October.
This is because the Ruston City Council recently approved increases to base rates for both water and sewer services.
The combined increases will mean $6 extra on the bill for most customers and $10 for those in apartments who have never paid a base rate.
Most city residential customers pay a monthly base rate of $4.26 for water, and the change will increase this amount to $7.26. The sewer service rate for most will increase from $4.50 to $7.50 per month.
