’Dogs: Close games become norm

Even some national recognition for Louisiana Tech University’s football team doesn’t dismiss the fact that the Bulldogs have a 1-3 record.

Following a 26-20 overtime loss at Mississippi State University on Saturday night, an ESPN announcer called Tech “the best 1-3 team in the country.”

“That and 50 cents will buy a coach a soft drink,” replied Tech Head Coach Sonny Dykes at his weekly media luncheon on Monday. “Well, maybe 75 cents.”

Whatever the cost, the bottom line is that Tech has had enough heartbreak after four games to last the rest of the season.
