DART vigil sheds light on those lost

The vigil was hosted to honor the 28 lives lost due to domestic violence.

In 2010 nearly 1,000 people visited one of the 20 domestic abuse shelters in the state of Louisiana.

Locally, the Domestic Abuse Resistance Team has been working to spread awareness of the crimes involving domestic violence.

On Tuesday night DART honored the 28 men, women and children who have been killed by domestic violence within the five parishes that they serve. The 28 include one man, four children and 23 women.
